Hundreds of women came out in droves to this year’s Women in Technology’s annual job fair, where Ken Leiner Associates met with and advised job seekers from across the technology spectrum. The room was buzzing.
In just a few short years, this annual job fair has grown exponentially, attracting exhibitors from technology companies to major consulting firms, and government organizations. Its goal is to help promote the hiring of women in what has been a predominantly male industry. And it’s working. There are more women in technology than meets the eye – in fact, WIT says some 33% of the technical community in the DC area are women. We talked to the organizers and attendees to find out more about this dynamic organization, and to get an inside look at the job fair experience and the benefits of working with a good recruiter.
