Imagine the sights of spirited dancers and sounds of rhythm and blues laced with Latin, Caribbean and African beats… Where the coolest barn hosts the coolest bands… Where Information Technology people gather with Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound in the same room. This was the hopping scene at the Barns of Wolftrap in Virginia on January 12, 2013, where the spotlights gleamed onto Cebar and his lively band formerly called The Milwaukeeans.
In an era where people job hop as quickly as they trade-in their cars, long-tenured company teams are a mark of distinction–and if under the tutelage of Ken Leiner, acknowledgement flows. So when this dance music aficionado throws a party to mark senior recruiter Stuart Neuwelt’s 20 years at Ken Leiner Associates, the staff, clients and friends come out to play. In fact, they packed the house for a rocking night of what The Washington Post aptly calls of Cebar’s band, “full-on, pan-ethnic party music.”
When Stuart first walked through KLA’s doors, he knew nothing of the IT industry. “I had to learn a whole new lingo,” says Stuart, “and get familiar with technology plus a new network of customers and candidates. It took awhile but was more fun than dealing with accountants.” He developed his chops and soon set up KLA’s west coast satellite office. “I owe Ken a lot for my success,” says Stuart. “And the people at KLA are just great. Whenever I go back to DC it’s like going on vacation; to a party where everyone is professional and fun to work with. This time it was a really cool dance party, and for a guy with no sense of rhythm–like having two left feet, even I had fun.” Complete with a shout-out from the wildly musical Paul Cebar. It was indeed, a party to remember. Click here to see photos from the party!
